In January 2008 several hundred Art Historians from around the world will converge on Melbourne for what will be an extraordinary opportunity to engage with the issue of globalism and Art History.

For postgraduate students, CIHA 2008 presents another outstanding opportunity: the chance for Art History students from around the world to congregate.

The aim of the CIHA 2008 Postgraduate Program is for students attending CIHA to meet a group of others with whom to experience the conference, to exchange knowledge and experience and to retain as friends and colleagues. Moreover, the program will give postgraduates the chance to interact with keynote speakers, attend professional development sessions on subjects such as publishing and to present their work to delegates from around the world in both formal and informal contexts.

Some of these events will also offer a great chance to relax in the sunshine, meet local students, take a trip to the countryside and experience some of what is great about Melbourne in the summer.

On this website you'll find more information about the various events planned for postgraduates at CIHA 2008. In particular, there's details about 'Art with the Kangaroos', a not-to-be-missed event planned for the conference rest day. 'Art with the Kangaroos' is a bus trip to the Yarra Valley, just outside Melbourne, and includes a visit to a wildlife sanctuary and a stunning local winery and Australian Art Gallery. The website is being constantly updated as we have more details to hand.

See you in January,
